In the world of radio imaging Rena-Marie, simply put, is…..a……BADASS. If Joan Jett, Lady Gaga and Steven Tyler had a love child she would look and sound just like R-MV. Rock and Roll runs through her veins and her edge and attitude are the envy of the industry. But to understand why, you have to know the history.
Rena-Marie got her start working in radio. In 1990, at the age of 16, she began interning at a small commercial Smooth Jazz station (WVAY) in West Dover, VT, and quickly fell in love. She’d always loved music and talking to people, and radio was the perfect blend of those two passions. By 17, she was a licensed FCC broadcaster doing overnights and learning how to splice tape and create spots. Over the next 15 years, she’d work in a handful of beautiful mountain towns covering formats from Smooth Jazz to Classic Rock to Triple A and Alternative Rock. She left radio in 2005 to pursue VO full-time, but kept her connection to her first love by becoming an imaging voice.
She’s currently the voice for legendary brands like Christopher Russo’s “Mad Dog Sports Radio” on SiriusXM 82, Chicago’s Classic Rocker WDRV “97-1 FM The Drive,” Miami’s 90’s Hits Station WMIA “Totally 93.9,” Detroit’s Rocker WLLZ “Detroit’s Wheels,” Los Angeles’ Alternative KYSR “ALT 98-7,” Charlotte’s Alternative WEND “106.5 The End,” Rockers WMMS in Cleveland, dubbed “100.7, The Buzzard,” and KAAZ in Salt Lake City, San Diego’s Hot AC KMYI “STAR 94-1,” Seattle’s Classic Hits KJR “95-7 The Jet,” the network of WAY-FM Christian radio stations around the country and Slacker Radio online.
Having lived in 9 states, and moved over 30 times, her ability to adapt has made her versatile. Her resume, as diverse as her life, is a reflection of that.
Rena-Marie works from her studio in the heart of Los Angeles. She records with a Sennheiser MKH416, beyerdynamic))) DT770 Pro headphones, an Avalon M5 mic pre, an Apogee Duet and Pro Tools, on a 2020 iMac, with Event Electronics TR5 monitors. She’s always available on short notice via ipDTL and Source Connect. For phone patch sessions, files are available in all formats.
